Sony Group has announced that the PlayStation 5 standard edition is expected to break even next in June 2021, meaning that the PS5 standard edition won’t be sold at loss. The standard edition is also expected to begin turning a profit from July 2021, no details about the PS5 digital edition were revealed.

Sony Group also confirmed that it considers both Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima and Housemarque’s Returnal to be successful new IP’s. Ghost of Tsushima was the fastest-selling new IP for a first-party studio on the PlayStation 4 and has sold over 6.5 million copies worldwide. No sales figures for Returnal were revealed.

Sony Group also lists both Dreams and Days Gone as part of its “IP Powerhouse” despite rejecting a pitch from Sony Interactive Entertainment Bend Studio for a Days Gone sequel.
