Sony Interactive Entertainment has registered the Sunset Overdrive trademark on the 26th of April 2021. The IP is owned by Insomniac Games, and now Sony Interactive Entertainment, but it’s unclear as to who owns the publishing rights for the first game. Insomniac Games has previously expressed interest in developing a sequel but Shawn Layden, former chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment, claimed that the Sunset Overdrive IP was not a priority for PlayStation.

Sunset Overdrive is currently available on PC and Xbox One.
