SNK Corporation has confirmed that The King of Fighters XV will release in 2021, no platforms were revealed but more information and a new trailer will be revealed next week. Eisuke Ogura, creative director of the game, also confirmed that more information will be released periodically.

Ogura-san has confirmed that the game is currently in the optimization stages and that they are planning to keep the game fast-paced whilst improving visuals and sound. Ogura-san also confirmed that Masami Obari, director of the Fatal Fury anime movies, is working on an animated short for the game.

The reveal trailer, which was postponed by two days, was also released along with some new screenshots for the game.
