The NPD Group has announced that the PlayStation 5 has set new records for the biggest launch of a new console, both in unit and dollar sales, in the United States. Both records were previously held by the PlayStation 4. No numbers were revealed by either the NPD Group or Sony, the PS5 is also facing major supply constraints worldwide. The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, on the other hand, had a smaller launch than the Xbox One.
