Golden Globe winner Oscar Isaac will star as Solid Snake in Sony Pictures’ Metal Gear Solid movie, the news was broken by Deadline and has since been confirmed by director Jordan Vogt-Roberts.

The live-action movie adaptation of Konami and Hideo Kojima’s video game series also has Derek Connolly (Jurassic World) handling the scripts. Avi Arad (Ghost in the Shell) will produce the movie and Peter Kang is overseeing the project. No other details were revealed.

Sony’s Metal Gear Solid movie adaptation was announced in 2012, Avi Arad, who is also working on Uncharted and inFamous movie adaptations, was the original director. Jordan-Vogt Roberts and Derek Connolly became attached to the project in 2014, very little news has been revealed since then.
